[CALL FOR PAPERS SUBMISSION DEADLINE ON JANUARY 15, 2023]
The Asian American Research Journal (AARJ), co-sponsored by the Asian American Research Center (AARC) and the Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies (AAADS) Program at UC Berkeley, is a platform for research and scholarly work that centers Asian American experiences, identities, and communities. The AARJ is published annually with the intent to uplift and empower students working to expand dialogue surrounding Asian American experiences.
VOLUME III: Shaping Our Legacies
The historical erasure and misunderstanding of Asian American communities continues to leave lasting impacts on our current generation’s experiences. For our third volume, the Asian American Research Journal intends to shed light on how these communities have existed, evolved, and persevered throughout time. We aim to collect submissions that retrace the roots of Asian American identity and explore how we have continued to strengthen our communities, fight against injustice, and build upon our culture. Through this reflection on our past, we can gain a deeper understanding of our present and shape the legacy that we wish to impart on future generations.
Submission Criteria:
- We are accepting book reviews, academic essays, and research papers.
- The work must be written in the last two calendar years by a UC Berkeley undergraduate or graduate student.
- Submissions must not exceed 10 pages single-spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman font, not including reference page.
- Citations must be from reliable sources and in Chicago style.
Submissions are being accepted until January 15th, 2023. Please submit your paper to tinyurl.com/AARJSpring2023. If you have any questions, please contact us at chiefeditor@aarj.berkeley.edu
